michaelxsangster:

Last night I paid £8 to see my friends support some bands I don’t like and hand out some flyers afterwards. Funnily enough, when it cost that much on a Monday night in Aberdeen, not a lot of people were there. I’m not gonna say who it was but the band the headlined seemed to be expecting a much better reaction than they got, and complained a lot on stage that no-one was singing along or anything to songs that they quite clearly didn’t know. I can understand how it might be a bit disheartening to come from playing packed out shows down south to a room with very few people in it who don’t know who you are, but the least you could do is appreciate the fact they’ve paid to watch you and not berate them. I played a show in Edinburgh once that we ended up having to get the megabus to, stayed in a youth hostel after, played to literally no-one but members of bands who were on after us and didn’t even get paid, and it was still probably the best weekend I’ve had this year. I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but basically what I’m saying is that if you’re in a band for any other reason than having fun with your friends then you’re probably doing it wrong.

Correct

Vinyl news.

Working on a song that’s going on a vinyl for a split EDiLS are involved with. we’re excited. also might try to get some form of other stuff out soon.

We need shows if we can get there and afford it we’ll play everywhere.

Listen to Bonehouse and give them shows. They have some songs getting recorded in the future (i think) and they are killer.

Alright! ZOLA

kerouacband:

After being a band for three years, and following a lot of thinking, we have decided to lay this to rest. Life caught up with us. I imagine you’ll hear from us in other projects in the future but for Kerouac, we’ve taken it as far as we can. We’re just four best friends that started jamming in a bedroom and never expected to do as much as you’ve allowed us to.
We’re doing one last show at The Old Blue Last, London on Saturday 7th July, it’s Free. The line up will be made up of best friends and we’ll be giving these songs the best send off possible. We’ll let you know how you can attend in due time.
Tangled Talk and Holy Roar will be releasing a Discography 12” this summer, we’re putting together artwork right now but we assure you it will be special.
Thankyou for everything, it’s meant the world.

I can’t speak for the whole band but personally this is real tragic news. I was always really inspired by this band. Not just because of the incredibly high quality of their output but also their sincerity and creativity. They combined such a strong craftsmanship with a real sense of imagination that their music transcended whatever tag or genre they got labelled with. They were just a really really great band. I know it’s a lot of praise for such a new group but that is just how good I think the music is. I’ll be at this show. RIP.Joe.

Tour was fucking excellent.
Here we are hanging out with Go Heeled/EDiLS watching Garth Marenghi. It’s brought home how special the DIY circuit is right now. Go to shows, listen to records, buy all the stuff, in general support it. So many passionate people in so many roles are helping this beautiful thing thrive.Every single person we have met has been phenomenally sweet. Too many to mention but everyone has really inspired to keep going forward. Promoters/those who run labels/those who dig music/all the other bands/everyone. It has been great to meet and befriend people who care about doing something positive.EDiLS recordings, we could not be more thankful too. It has been the best way to play music and see the UK.
